BROOKLYN BODEGA PARTNERS WITH J DILLA FOUNDATION FOR 2010 BROOKLYN HIP-HOP FESTIVAL
Event to Feature Discussion with Hip-Hop Legend Q-Tip and “Ma Dukes” Yancey

Brooklyn Bodega announced its partnership with The J Dilla Foundation for the 2010 Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival (BHF). On July 6th as part of BHF ‘10 Week, Brooklyn Bodega and The J Dilla Foundation present the Bodega Education Initiative (BEI), which will celebrate the legacy of J Dilla. The event will be hosted by the Brooklyn Historical Society. Panelists will include Hip-Hop legend Q-Tip, Maureen “Ma Dukes” Yancey, DJ Spinna and more.

DATE: Tuesday July 6th, 2010
TIME: 2-8pm (Immediately followed by After Party)

The Bodega Education Initiative events are as follows:

-BEI Panel: One-on-one discussion with “Ma Dukes” Yancey and Q-Tip (Moderator: TBD).

-Workshop: An in depth technical and musical analysis of Dilla’s production. Open to all ages. Professionals and amateurs.

-Roundtable: Discussion with Dilla’s peers and longtime collaborators.

-Panel: Learning from J Dilla’s mistakes: Entrepreneurship in Hip-Hop. Discussion on methods to mediate the space between art and business.
